A quick personal note to offer my apologies for not posting in several months.
I have a parent in declining health, nearing the end of their life, and, at the same time, increasing demands in my work. Which leads to a harried writer with very little time!
As you might expect, that also influences my feelings about the Princess of Wales, trying to deal with a personal health issue, three small children, and public questions and expectations.
What we’ve unfortunately seen, has been a low I (foolishly) didn’t think possible, and not just from the trolls, but ‘respectable’ reporters/outlets/experts weighing in, only to repeat rumours and conspiracy theories.
One of the first things I was taught as a writer, is that when you’re overwhelmed by information, gossip, or the emotion of a story, and need to reassess and maybe restart, go back to the facts. Go back to what is known, and carefully work out from there.
If you’re going to share information, always consider the source first, their background and motives.
Make sure you can verify any information with another solid, reputable source.
Remember that conspiracy theories make for great drama, but in real life, the most likely and reasonable explanation is often the right one.
In other words: The more leaps of faith you have to take, the further you’re probably getting from the truth.
I took that into consideration when I wrote about the Princess of Wales and public life here.
As always, thank you for reading and for your lovely comments.
I am sorry to hear of your situation.
I'm only new here but please look after your family and yourself first 💕🙏❤️🙏
I sincerely wish you all the best in this very trying time. While I welcome your thoughtful approach to your writing and miss receiving more posts, you have bigger issues to face. Do take care of yourself.
